Euphoria and the Spiritual Journey
In episode 5 of Euphoria,
Rue hit rock bottom. We saw the addiction play out in real time. She began to destroy her relationship with her loved ones. It’s a mirror. She destroyed her relationship with herself. Throughout the series, religion plays a pivotal role in the life of Rue. Spiritually, we can spin this around and explain the signification of each dynamic.
RUE’S INNER CHILD AND LOSING HER MASCULINE SIDE: When Rue’s father passed away, her inner child lost their masculine side. In the 5 aspects of the soul there are 5 components: inner child, shadow self, higher self, feminine and masculine. To make an inner child, they must come from union within the feminine and masculine. These produce a baby. A new life force. We are a connection of the universe. We create life and magic the way the universe does. Since we are humans with limited capacity, this dynamics split into 5 different parts of ourselves that make up our personality. Rue seeks her father for her masculine side. The absence of masculine energy makes you feel incomplete.
RUE’S ADDITION AND SHADOW SELF: Throughout the episode you see Rue being a wanted person by the law. She partakes in a house invasion and steals which is a crime by law. She even went to the drug dealer’s house and the drug dealer was preying on her femininity to drug her and abuse her. It is a very gruesome reality that sometimes we live through in different levels. These actions are motivated by the shadow self. The shadow self is the low vibrational part of us. This is where our 3D world shapes who we become if not given proper healing. When rue spirals, her shadow self comes to life. It’s fueled by negative energies. By gaslight, deflecting and projection. It is caused by the sickness the 3D makes you become. The 3D is created and held by the matrix. Now,I haven’t done my extension research on what the matrix entails so I will skip going into detail.
THE DRUG DEALER WOMAN & THE DEVIL: Just like the shadow self feeds off toxicity, so does the devil. In the episode, the drug dealer woman is the personification of the devil. She preys on insecurities and self-hate. Self-loathing.From others. Her backstory was that she was a college athlete and got injured. The injury prevented her from achieving her potential. She couldn’t become active again, so she found drug dealing. Not only did she find drug dealing a useful pastime to dedicate to, but she also avoids being a drug addict. She sells to avoid using the drugs. The devil does this by not facing itself. The devil has its own shadow self. The reason the devil is the devil is because of unhealthy coping mechanisms. It never healed itself. It never integrated with its soul. It got stuck and lost. And the devil made do with the cards that were dealt. So, it sulks in its misery. Like the saying goes, “the devil loves company”. You become the devil if you don’t ascend and do personal healing work.
ELLIOT AS KARMA: Elliot became the driving force with the truth coming out. He told Jules thatRue nor he are sober. They’re addicts. The truth will set you free. Because he told his truth, he was authentic to who he is and stopped running from himself, he set others free. That’s all we can do in this lifetime. To set others free by living in our truth. Being our truth. Embodying our truth. With everything included. Never excluded. Elliot set himself free by speaking from his throat chakra. This made Rue’s shadow self lashed out. Because it knows it’s scared. The shadow side turns into the devil. The devil is an unhealthy coping mechanism. It never learned anything higher than what it knows now. Karma plays a huge role in our lives. It helps bring illusions down. “as above so below”. This phrase means that everything that is above us must be below us. A binary code. Anything that brings us harm, there must be good on the other side.
ADDICTION AS BEING STUCK IN THE MATRIX: Last part to this breakdown is how addiction isa result of being stuck in the matrix. Being stuck in conditional patterns. Of our past lives and current life. We become mentally stuck. Mentally unwell. There’s no sliver of hope left in us. Our soul is fragmented. It’s not even healing. It ceases life. It ceases force and potential. Our lights burn out.
